Yes, we had our holiday party in February. Seems they figured everyone is away in December, so they pick February.
This year it was held at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco. I heard this is a very new hotel. It's located in downtown S.F. (Third Street next to Moscone Center). There was a nice turn out. They served hors d'oeuvres and they had a live band. Because we were vegetarian, they made a special plate for us.
We danced alittle and mingled. It was a lot of fun and we got to dress up. Bill wore a suit and I wore a black sleeveless top and red mini skirt.
YES! Jerry Rice is safe in "Dancing With The Stars". I find him entertaining and a real sport. But I've talked with friends and we know that he won't be in the final two. But who knows???
I voted 4 times for him. I tried voting two more time "we can vote 6 times" but the lines were busy. That was a good sign.
Deep breathe...he will be back on the show next week. Yeah!!!!!!!!
The firm that I work for does their annual celebration for Chinese New Year's. For entertainment were 4 lion dancers. I love watching them perform. Of course the drums and cymbals echoed in the lobby. It can be a bit deafening to the ears. The sound didn't bother me. At one point one of the lions came close to me and batted its pretty eyes. "LOL"
Baskets of fortune cookies and tangerines is the tradtional treat. There was all sort of different dim sums.
It was nice to leave the desk and socialize with everyone else in the office.
I am not sure if this show will return for another season. Finally got the chance to see some of it last night. The judges are boring and the stars do an okay job in skating.
They can't compare to the judges on "Dancing With The Stars" and "American Idol" or "You Think You Can Dance." They have humor and are very entertaining. People like that.
I was at work and walked away from my desk to deliver something. As I was walking someone came by delivering a box of flowers. One of the secretaries signed for it and asked "is it your anniversary???" I said nope. But I knew right away who it was from.
My hunnay sent me baby pink roses in a very nice arrangement. Enclosed was a vase that had for hearts that read "luv ya", "4 ever", "You Rock" and "Be Mine." Awwwww
All the girls at work were jealouse. It was very unexpected and sweet. Bill was out of town for a class in Pasadena, CA. He is coming home Saturday night.
Woo hoo! Jerry Rice is safe in "Dancing with the Stars." I called in 3 times, my co-workers called in as well. And yes! He will be competing next week.
We don't like the idea that you have to call during the show and 30 minutes after. They are giving you 7 times to vote and 1 time per email on the internet.
I still don't understand why Master P is still there. He's okay but is he really ballroom dancing material. His fans seem to keep him alive in the competition. I like his partner Ashley, people might feel sorry for her and that is why they vote. Or maybe they think he is a real good dancer.
My favorites: of course Jerry Rice, Drew Lachey, Stacy Keebler and Tia Carrere. Bad thing is it's 90 minutes and I miss the last 30 minutes because CSI starts at 9 o'clock. And I'm not missing an episode.
Well 8 teams played this weekend. Four are playing to represent the NFC and AFC next weekend. The teams are: Pittsburgh and Denver for AFC. I don't care who wins there. Then Seattle and Chicago for the NFC. I would like to see Seattle win. They haven't won a superbowl so I'd like them to win. That is if they make it.
It's been raining and it's best to stay indoors. I did my errands of course in the morning. As I was driving home, it started to pour. Played a game on my computer.
Did a little decoupage work on my latest project which I started on today. At the moment, it's drying. It's a picture of WB characters riding a rollercoaster and screaming. Sylvester, Marv the Martian and his dog, Elmer Fudd, Bugs Bunny and his girlfriend and Daffy Duck. Oh and also Tweety. It has alot of detail and it's pretty big. So this may take some time to do. I will post a pic once it's done.
Well at least on my floor and department. The woman that sits behind me is off on Wednesdays. And the one that sits in front of me, had an emergency at home. Her son is very sick. So it's just lil old me. No one to talk to that is nearby. I have my trusty clock radio that keeps me company. Occasionally I get up to stretch and circulate the legs.
I need to remember to..."remove the headset when finishing a call". I forgot and ouch, I hurt my ear. At least I didn't yank that hard. I may have caused worse damage.
What a way to spend a four day weekend? It's been raining during that time. Well there was a temporary break where we didn't have rain. But this storm has been pretty devestating in areas such as; Napa and Marin County. Major mud slides. Forecast predicts clearing tomorrow. Just in time to go back to work! :)
Ok, I remember the original (1979) starring Carol Kane. And that movie was full of suspense. I saw this with my sister Nancy when I was 12 years old. Everyone jumped out of their seats in one particular scene.
So I am off work today and watching my soaps. I see this commercial. Suddenly, I recognized the plot. A stranger calling. There is a babysitter. The call is traced and they tell the babysitter it's coming from the house. NO WAY!!! It's a remake!!!
The actors in this movie aren't anyone famous or at least recognizable to me.
Hope everyone had a safe and joyous time with friends and loved ones this holiday season. I'm still nursing a cold but it seems to be in its final stage.
Besides a new cell phone and CD that DH presented me earlier. I got a "Darth Tater", which I have been searching the toy stores for but could never find one. They were sold out on the internet as well. Then I got two cd's of U2 "Joshu Tree" and Todd Rungren. And last but not least U2 "Vertigo concert on DVD!!! My boys!!!!
Other gifts that I got: from co-workers "journal, soap shaped like fortune cookies, body cream, bobbing duck and a snowman figurine on skis.
And the temps over here is warm. There have been days when it was freezing cold but not today. Dark clouds in the skies and showers are expected later today. I have been under the weather the past couple of days. Right now I'm trying to get over a sore throat and bad cough. The throat doesn't bother me much but I still have the lingering cough. I'm taking medicine and drinking lots and lots of fluids.
I got in this morning and found a card and a figurine of a snowman on skis. My boss was the one who left this. That was very sweet of her. Awwwww
